6 Instructors and 24 Students on Your Trip

We have the best instructor to student ratio of any outdoor program,

which allows each student to receive individual attention, yet still include diverse talents, backgrounds, and interests.

Adventure Treks is the only adventure camp with 24 students with 6 instructors. Years of experience have proven this to be the ideal size to create a phenomenal community experience.

For many activites, we will divide into three smaller groups of 8 students with 2 instructors.

• In three smaller groups, students can choose an appropriate level of challenge.
• This allows them to share their experience with other students of similar abilities and make close friendships in a small group setting.
• The small group size also increases one's individual learning and leadership opportunities.

When the 3 groups come back together at night, (whether after a day apart climbing or after a five-day backpack) our students discover the true magic of our shared community experience.

The Power of Six Instructors

Adventure Treks is the only wilderness program to feature 24 students with 6 instructors on most trips. Six instructors ensure that there is always an instructor available to do what's most important: be actively involved with our students and to get to know them as individuals.

• A six-instructor team adds flexibility and improves safety. If there is an illness or injury and an instructor needs to sit out of an activity with a student, we can still maintain supervision with a better ratio than other programs.  
• A six-instructor team, comprised of both women and men, simply has more creative energy and depth of experience than a two- or three-person team.
  
• The broad range of instructor personalities and accomplishments offers a wider variety of role models on a single trip.
• A six-instructor team, coupled with our uniquely high staff return rate of 70%, ensures that there are always several returning instructors on each Adventure. This helps us maintain a consistently high quality program.
