Our students know that the three most important words at Adventure Treks are "safety, safety, safety!"
Safety is our primary goal and we are extremely proud of our outstanding safety record. We have safely worked with over 10,000 students over the last 33 years.
Our experienced and certified instructors teach safety in every activity, and strive to develop a safety-conscious mindset among students, which we call “expedition mentality.”
Safety begins with experienced Trip Leaders and Regional Directors. They each average over 6 years of Adventure Treks experience. This leadership team facilitates an extensive 10 to 14 day staff training where we review our detailed safety procedures and set the tone for a safe, fun summer. We have detailed protocols for each activity and we constantly evaluate and measure safety.
We are successful because we instill a safety mindset in our students. We teach safety and sound judgment skills through our activities and make “safety checks” part of our nightly evening meetings.
Statistically, our students are safer at Adventure Treks than if they stayed home and had a normal summer in the cities and suburbs. We make our decisions regarding the safety of our students as if their parents were looking over our shoulders at all times.
Adventure Treks received the "Safety First" award from Markel Insurance for excellence in safety education compared to peers in 2008, 2009 and again in 2010.
