It is not unusual to be nervous about your flight! With Adventure Treks, our instructors greet you as you step off the plane. A Regional Director and your instructors are in the airport on arrival day, and the office staff is ready to help parents and students organize their travel day.
Arriving at the airport:
An Adventure Treks Instructor, wearing an A.T. hat and shirt, will greet you as you step off the plane. In the off-chance that we aren't there immediately, head through security to your designated meeting place in baggage claim.
Plan to arrive at the airport before 1 pm on opening day.It's always best to choose the first flight of the day so in case there are delays you can still stay on schedule.If you do experience a delayed flight or a missed connection, we’ll be sure to meet your new flight even if you arrive at 2 am!
You'll call home as soon you have met your instructor at your gate, greeted other students, and gathered your bags.Parents, expect about an hour or more between your child’s flight touching down and their phone call home to you.
You won’t have to sit at the airport for long; we take shuttles to a nearby park to play games and eat pizza. By the end of the first day, Adventure Treks students say they "already feel like one big family." The community experience begins immediately.
Our famous Yahoo dinner completes your first day at Adventure Treks, and by the time you fall asleep in your tent on the first night, you’ll have made plenty of new friends.You will already know that it's going to be a great summer at Adventure Treks.
Departures:
At the end of your trip, you won’t want to leave!
Please schedule your flight home anytime between 6 am and 1 pm on closing day.In our experience, earlier flights are better than later ones in case of delays. 10 am is the perfect departure time if you have unlimited options.
At the airport, an Adventure Treks instructor will help you check in for your flight, pass through security, and, on most trips, stay with you at your gate until your plane leaves. Our office staff is available by phone if problems arise with delays or connections.

Unaccompanied Minors:
If you are flying as an Unaccompanied Minor, an A.T. instructor with an A.T. shirt and hat will meet you at the gate.
In May, we will add the name of your Unaccompanied Minor Greeter to your travel forms. At that time, you can download the information from your Forms and Documents. It's under "Travel Information" near the bottom of the page.
