Christina Kosvick

Instructor, Pacific Northwest Adventure 1 & Alaska Expedition 2

Originally from Chicago, IL, Christina just finished a season working as the outdoor pursuits reservations coordinator at Big Sky Resort in Montana; last winter season, she worked at Snowbasin in Utah. Since high school, Christina has worked with kids in several different capacities. She was a camp counselor at Camp Laurel South in Maine; was a supervisor, swim instructor, and lifeguard at Goldfish Swim School in Illinois; and facilitated kids’ outdoor activities, field trips, and summer camps through Life Time Fitness. She’s also worked with Mountain Alliance in North Carolina, helping with after-school programs, and during her time at App State, she volunteered for the Special Olympics and was the treasurer of the Recreation Management Association. Christina returns to Adventure Treks for her third season as an instructor.

  • Education: Appalachian State University; bachelor’s degree in recreation and park management
  • Certifications: Wilderness first responder, ACA swiftwater rescue level 4
  • Favorite outdoor memory: Cowboy camping on the Olympic Peninsula and waking up to the sunrise.
  • Favorite outdoor achievement: Climbing Mt. Adams with a group of AT students last summer.
  • Favorite place you’ve traveled to: Blue Ridge Mountains, NC
  • Favorite hobbies: Hiking, skiing, stand-up paddleboarding, playing with my German shepherd Ammo, painting, and yoga.
  • What are you most excited for this summer? Meeting all of the new students and staff and catching up with returning staff!
