Joe Alexander

Instructor

A California resident, Joe has spent his recent years in Hawaii; he joins Adventure Treks for his first season as an instructor. Most recently, Joe interned for the Conservation Leadership Development Program in Honolulu, helping with trail maintenance and mapping historic and ancient trails. He also worked for the Boys and Girls Club America leading trips for elementary and middle school boys. Before that, Joe was a program guide for Pacific Quest Wilderness Therapy, working with both adolescents and young adults; a guide for Mount Hernon Kidder Creek Adventure Camp, guiding ropes courses and whitewater rafting and rock climbing trips; and an assistant coach for a high school wrestling team. Joe is also an Outward Bound graduate, having participated in a 50-day course in Washington, sea kayaking, mountaineering, and rock climbing.

  • Favorite outdoor achievement: Completing my 50-day outdoor educator course with Outward Bound in Washington!
  • Favorite hobbies: Surfing, hiking, and playing sports (especially passionate about the sport of wrestling).
