Instructor, Pacific Northwest Adventure 1 & Ultimate Northwest 2

Originally from Massachusetts, Ryan stayed in New England to attend Northern Vermont University – Lyndon. While there, he helped lead after-school programs for elementary school students at a YMCA and was a camp counselor at another YMCA camp the following summer. He spent a summer as a trip leader with Camp Pinnacle, helping oversee backpacking trips in Pisgah National Forest. Currently, he’s a group leader at an after-school program in Vermont, working with children from kindergarten to 8th grade. In his free time, you can find him ticking off each of the 48 4,000-foot peaks of the White Mountains. Ryan is joining Adventure Treks for his first season as an instructor.

  • Education: Northern Vermont University – Lyndon; bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, leadership, and tourism
  • Certifications: Wilderness first responder, Leave No Trace master educator, class II canoe instructor
  • What excites you most about working for AT this summer? The opportunity to explore beautiful places while part a community where strangers can become friends that feel more like family.
  • Favorite outdoor memory? Hiking along the Franconia Ridge Trail in the White Mountains in the middle of this past winter and feeling cozy despite the cold, snow, and wind!
