Adventure Treks Alumni Stories

This space is dedicated to Adventure Treks stories—real reflections from former students and staff on where life has taken them after their summers in the outdoors. Through interviews and personal essays, our alumni share how adventure, community, and time unplugged shaped their confidence, careers, relationships, and sense of direction.

Whether they’re off to college, traveling the world, doing meaningful work, or staying connected to the outdoors, these stories offer a long-term look at the lasting impact of an Adventure Treks experience.

“There are countless ways AT has positively impacted my life. It gave me the best environment to learn who I was and what I’m capable of. It gave me the confidence and self-awareness necessary to go after what I wanted in life and know there is no dream too big. It gave me the strength and courage to become a firefighter when I didn’t know many women in the fire service at all. The belief that I could figure out anything I had the courage to go after has served me in every aspect of my life. I learned some hard lessons at AT that still serve me today as well. I’m grateful for all of them.” – Stephanie Rosario, student from 2001–2003

“My AT experiences were critical to my development of self confidence and independence. I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to go to Adventure Treks.” – Will Nading, student from 1996–2000
