Bri is a New Yorker by birth but has most recently called North Carolina home, where she attends Duke University. She attended two trips as an Adventure Treks student, and after graduating from high school participated in a gap semester program with the National Outdoor Leadership School, spending several months in New Zealand backpacking, canoeing, and sea kayaking. She was a counselor and group leader for a traditional summer camp in New York, and she was an ecology counselor and taught sailing at a Scouts camp in as well!

Favorite hobbies

I love backpacking, swimming, kayaking, reading, and spending time with my friends outdoors. This year, I’ve gotten involved in the club rowing team at my college and started learning how to repair bikes at a bike co-op in Durham!

Favorite outdoor achievement

Living outdoors for three months in New Zealand, where I went backpacking, canoeing, and kayaking!

Favorite outdoor memory

Summiting the last peak of a 22-day backpack and having a snowball fight at the summit!

Favorite place in the world

Barcelona, Spain—I lived there for a bit last year, and the culture was so vibrant and the people were so friendly.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

I am most looking forward to helping others experience the joy of being in the outdoors and seeing my students growth over the summer!
