Favorite hobbies
I’ve grown more interested in exploring a lifestyle that enables me to consume less energy and resources and spend more time building community and stewarding my local environment. I’ve discovered a love for biking and grown ever-fonder of river canoeing. I also love artisan cheese and experimenting with new flavors.
Favorite outdoor achievement
I gave up driving a car for a little over a year to see what life would be like with just my legs, a bike, and the Vermont public transportation system.
Favorite outdoor memory
Embracing the sublime in the Trinity Alps during California Challenge in 2019 still stands as my favorite outdoor memory—I’m overdue for a fresh one!
Favorite place in the world
My new favorite place is a hemlock-shaded emerald pool guarded by fern and moss lined rock walls and a 20-foot wide waterfall in southern Vermont.
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
Reconnecting with what it feels like to be in a community that brings out the best in all its members and the sense of satisfaction that comes from facilitating that for students.
