Nate comes to us from sunny Arizona! Nate spent many summers working at summer camps, including Camp Adventure in his hometown and Chestnut Lake Camp in Pennsylvania. Earlier this summer, Nate hiked a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail with several other Adventure Treks instructors, including his sister Kassi!
I enjoy spending time adventuring in nature with friends and family, especially time by the beach and watching stars at night. I enjoy and helped start an ultimate frisbee club in high school while also having casual games of football with friends. I love games that challenge the mind in strategic ways such as deck-building and role play, including Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. I like 3D printing figurines and painting them in my free time. I love getting chances to take pictures or nature and using nice cameras that allow for lots of editing and adjustment. I also indulge in a good book whenever I get the chance!
My most impressive feat is probably having hiked a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail earlier this summer for two weeks straight!
My favorite outdoor memory was a late night at a summer camp in Pennsylvania, where several of us had decided to camp out on a grassy field to watch a meteor shower one night. It was incredibly beautiful, and I saw the biggest shooting star I’d ever seen. It was trailing a green and blue tail, and you could see every detail of its colors as it left a streak in the night sky.
My favorite place in the world is Oregon due to its stunning beaches. Watching the crashing waves against large cliffsides where the forests meet the water is a very surreal experience. It brings together my two favorite places in nature!
I am most looking forward to making new friends and curating a wonderful experience for kiddos! Summers at camps like these are some of my favorite memories, so if I can reproduce that feeling in the students, then that is the ultimate achievement. Being both their leader and also someone they can trust and enjoy being around is something I can’t wait to provide for them!
