Favorite hobbies

Swimming in shallow glacial alpine lakes, traveling, contact-improv, reading, journaling, taking pictures while jumping, rock climbing, skiing, and smelling flowers. I’m now excited about crocheting, too!

Favorite outdoor achievement

My first series of solo-hikes: My first-ever hike alone was a 10-hour one along the Croatian-Bosnian border where I got lost in some trees and wandered through thick fog with horses for company. A couple months later, I was in the Republic of Georgia and did a ridge hike above the highest village in Europe and got to frolic in flower fields.

Favorite outdoor memory

My dad telling me and my brother stories to get us to go to sleep when I was younger when we went camping, watching a fissure eruption in Iceland with the most stunning sunset I’ve ever seen and 70mph winds attempting to blow me off the side of the hill, or rock climbing with red-tailed hawks circling above.

Favorite place in the world

Either Ireland or the Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia. I have a particular obsession with Irish music, and I loved all of the live music, the people, and the scenery. With Patagonia, I was absolutely smitten with the MOUNTAINS that appear out of NOWHERE, matè (a tea), and the personal transformation traveling there gave to me.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Returning to a place full of whimsy and wonder, where there’s a community to learn to do cool and hard things together.
