Instructor

Originally from Connecticut, Lorenzo now calls Vermont home. This year, Lorenzo worked for Vermont Forests, Parks, and Recreation, and also on ski patrol for Burke Mountain Resort. While in school, he was a ski instructor at the local mountain, and he also worked on the Connecticut Woodlands Conservation Corps building and repairing trails across the state. He’s worked as a summer camp counselor, at a rock climbing wall, as an elementary school para-educator, and as a ninja course instructor for kids.

Vermont State University Lyndon, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in outdoor education, leadership, and adventure education

Certifications

Wilderness first responder, AIARE level 1 avalanche and rescue, ACA kayak instructor level 2, Leave No Trace educator, challenge course practitioner

Favorite hobbies

I have been avidly hiking, rock climbing, and canoeing. I also did some backcountry ski camping over the winter when I was not ski patrolling.

Favorite outdoor achievement

I hiked the Presidential Traverse in the White Mountains of New Hampshire in a single day.

Favorite outdoor memory

Summiting Mount St. Helens with Adventure Treks!

Favorite place in the world

Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, CT. That is the place that revealed my love for the outdoors while I was very young, and continues to do so every time I return.
