Favorite hobbies
If I am playing outside I love to hike, backpack, and ski. I love being outside in the field for scientific research doing field work, especially when it means I get to study glaciers! When I am not getting my outside time, I play the fiddle in a bluegrass band.
Biggest outdoor achievement
Crossing the entirety of the Juneau Icefield in Alaska over mountains and glaciers by ski and foot.
Favorite outdoor memory
So many!!! But one that sticks out is summiting Mt. Shasta with some of my best friends at Adventure Treks.
Favorite place in the world
I think Alaska has got to be one of my favorite places in the world. The mountains there are a different kind of magic.
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
I am looking forward to creating a strong, tight- knit community where everyone feels like they can be themselves. It is so special to see students come out of their shells as the trip continues and they feel accepted and at ease in a community. I am so excited to be weird and silly with everyone!
Previous Adventure Treks trips include Colorado Explorer, Pacific Northwest Explorer, British Columbia Adventure, California Challenge, Blue Ridge Expedition, Alaska Expedition
