Emory

Instructor

Emory hails from Florida but currently calls Virginia home. During her time at Saint Petersburg College and Lynn University, Emory spent several summers as a counselor and then trip leader for a summer camp in North Carolina. She now works for the University of Richmond as a trip facilitator for the university’s outdoor recreation department, which runs skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, rafting, and camping trips!

Also, Emory is a former Adventure Treks student, having attended the Pacific Northwest Adventure as a high schooler!

Favorite hobbies

Lately, I have been really into making crafts. I love making bracelets, drawing, and collaging. I also love live music and dancing. One of my goals is to get better at square dancing and line dancing. In my spare time I also like to read, go hiking, and watching movies.

Favorite outdoor memory

My favorite outdoor memory is when I went paddle boarding in Crystal River, FL, and a manatee sneezed in my face.

Favorite place in the world

Barcelona, Spain, is my favorite place in the world. Antoni Gaudí, a Catalan architect, is of my biggest inspirations in life for his use of Earth’s natural laws and nature’s beauty.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

I am looking forward to sleeping under the stars and sitting by the campfire with new friends.
