Jonah

Instructor

Originally from Colorado, Jonah now calls California home where he’s pursuing a degree at UC Santa Cruz. Jonah is a National Outdoor Leadership School graduate, having completed a semester program in the Rockies, where he backpacked, climbed, canyoneered, and rafted through Wyoming and Utah. He worked at the Yellowstone Club as a race crew member and ski instructor, and he’s worked as a bike mechanic as well, having grown up mountain biking in his home state. Jonah also spent a year traveling solo around the world, spending time in places like New Zealand, Albania, southeast Asia, Australia, and Europe!

Favorite hobbies

I LOVE to mountain bike, and I do it every day. I also love to backpack, ski, and raft! My hobbies recently have been slacklining, learning to hacky sack, building tree nets, and volunteering at a bike co-op!

Favorite outdoor achievement

Backpacking through the Wind River Range in Wyoming and learning how to read maps!

Favorite outdoor memory

Discovering the joy of steep skiing at Big Sky, MT, and uncontrollably laughing because of it. Or earning the nickname “Mr. Giggles” from mountain biking my local trails on a big group ride.
