Originally from New Hampshire, Kara currently calls Hawaii home where she’s pursuing a master’s degree in social work. In between classes, Kara works on a farm in Hilo. She’s also worked a few years as the lead program guide at Pacific Quest on the Big Island. Before that, Kara was an instructor with Saint Michael’s College, organizing and leading wilderness adventures for students.

I love hiking, reading, baking sourdough, spending time at the beach and in the ocean, and any kind of craft.
I hiked all 48 peaks above 4,000 feet in New Hampshire.
I got to spend a birthday backpacking in Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and camping on the beach with my best friends. It rained the entire time, but we loved it.
Hilo, Hawaii. This is where I lived when I first moved to Hawaii. This is one of the rainiest places in the country, making it a lush jungle with beautiful black sand beaches.
