She’s also worked a few years as the lead program guide at Pacific Quest on the Big Island. Before that, Kara was an instructor with Saint Michael’s College, organizing and leading wilderness adventures for students.

Favorite hobbies

I love hiking, reading, baking sourdough, spending time at the beach and in the ocean, and any kind of craft. I’ve also gotten into free diving and played a lot of tennis this past year.

Favorite outdoor achievement

I hiked all 48 peaks above 4,000 feet in New Hampshire.

Favorite outdoor memory

I went on a seep sea safari in Kona recently and got to swim in and become part of a school of hammerhead sharks! It was crazy.

Favorite place in the world

This is a tough one, but I’d say the Presidential Range in New Hampshire.
