Calvin

Instructor

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Calvin currently works as a whitewater rafting guide and trip leader in his home state. He also leads backpacking and canoeing trips for Vermont State’s outing club, and during the week takes kids into the outdoors in an afterschool program. He spent many summers working as a counselor at a YMCA summer camp.

  • Education: Vermont State University Lyndon Campus, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation; Greenfield Community College, associate’s degree in adventure education
  • Certifications: Wilderness first responder
  • Favorite outdoor memory: Completing the White Mountain Presidential Traverse in one day.
  • Favorite outdoor achievement: A 10-day winter backcpuntry class in the 100 Mile Wilderness in Maine.
  • Favorite place you’ve traveled: A place that exceed my expectations was the 100 Mile Wilderness!
  • Favorite hobbies: My passions are backpacking, backcountry snowboarding, whitewater rafting, and climbing
  • What are you most excited for this summer? This summer I’m looking to inspire young people about the outdoors and make friends along the way.
