Elizabeth
Instructor
Originally from Alabama, Elizabeth headed north for school and still resides in the mountains of North Carolina. There, she works as an instructor for Mountain Alliance, an outdoor and service/volunteer program for local youth. She’s also been a ski instructor near Boone, NC, and counselor at a camp in Alabama. She completed a semester trip in the Rockies with the National Outdoor Leadership School, which focused on backpacking, rock climbing, and paddling.
- Education: Appalachian State University, bachelor’s degree in recreation management
- Certification: Emergency medical technician, Leave No Trace master educator, avalanche level 1
- Favorite outdoor memory: Backpacking across the Continental Divide.
- Favorite outdoor achievement: Building and living in quinzhees for two weeks on a backcountry ski trip.
- Favorite hobbies: Hiking, biking, baking, sewing, and knitting
