Rock Climbing on Canada Day

wpdev02 Jul, 2016

A quick update from instructor Katie: Our group has had a wonderful last two days climbing at the Skaha Bluffs. We spent the first day learning all the safety procedures associated with climbing then every in the group took turns belaying and climbing. The next day, our guides set up a Tyrolean traverse across a canyon. They also set up a 100 foot repel that lead down into a cave as well as a zip line. All of the students have really enjoyed the challenges and the thrills of each activity. As instructors, it was awesome watching some students monkey up difficult climbs but nothing beat watching the other students conquer their fears of height.

A quick update from instructor Abby: Happy Canada Day! This evening our group prepared a very special Canada Day dinner featuring pancakes with Canadian bacon, maple syrup and side of poutine. Following dinner everyone participated in the first annual Canadian Olympics— a fun-filled event involving copious amounts of whip cream and flair. There was lots of laughing to be had! After two awesome days of climbing, tomorrow we will head north to the beautiful town of Clearwater, BC where we will spend the remainder of our time in Canada. The students are all looking forward to a restful car ride and white water rafting the following day!
