Whitewater Rafting

A quick update from instructor Katie: Hello from hot and sunny California! We just got back from a relaxing three days on the Middle Klamath. It was a nice respite after our rigorous ascent of Mt. Shasta. During the three days, our group of inflatable kayaks and rafts drifted down the river, encountering Class I-IV rapids along the way. Both nights were spent at beautiful beaches where we took advantage of the clear skies and slept out both nights, enjoying the starry night sky. Unlike the previous activities, this was the first activity we participated in as one group, allowing for the community to grow closer together. We swam, jumped off rocks, picked numerous blackberries, took a hike to a beautiful waterfall, and participated in raft wars, of course! Our final evening was spent at prom…trash bag prom. It was a blast and there was a plethora of creative outfits consisting of trash bags and funky duct tape!
